About Us
Ben and Heather are the owners for Schoen Auto in East Rochester NY, where they get several questions a week regarding automotive care. Gear Related became the perfect medium to answer these questions and give people a look behind the curtain when it comes to auto repair.
Gear Related helps provide education to the average consumer to help them make better informed decisions about their vehicles. It’s also pretty fun to do!

Our Hosts
Benjamin Lee
Benjamin Lee is a ASE certified Master Technician and co-owner of Schoen Auto in East Rochester NY. He has been repairing and servicing cars for 25 years, including domestic, Asian, and European manufactured automobiles. He also has a BFA from SUNY Brockport and is a co-founder of the podcast Gear Related. Benjamin also served proudly in the Army National Guard.
Heather Lee
Heather has a lot on her plate and that’s just the way she likes it. She is co-owner of Schoen Auto and co-host of the fantastic podcast “Gear Related”. Her other day job is taking care of patients and serving the community as a family nurse practitioner. She is also a writer and cat mom.
Our Producer
Mike Muscarella
Mike Muscarella is the engine of Violet Mary, the nearly-famous indie hard rock band based in Rochester, NY. Together with co-writer Mel Muscarella, Violet Mary has been featured in Music Connection, Elmore and Fireworks UK, as well as sharing stages with moe., Dawes, Gin Blossoms, Adam Ezra Group and Danielle Ponder. When not making music, Mike warps the minds of tenth grade history students and reclines with his cat Nigel, PhD and his dog Seamus, who is still working on his letters.
